New Jersey has an additional 2,608 cases of coronavirus. State officials say the rate of transmission has increased to 1.09 which means the virus is spreading more than it did a week ago. There are another 28 deaths from the virus.
The Atlantic City Convention Center has administered over 100,000 Covid-19 vaccines since it opened. Governor Murphy announced Monday that over 3.5 million vaccines have been handed out to New Jersey residents.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced Monday that the June primary elections will be held in-person. Murphy stated Monday there is no need to go to a completely remote or mail in election due to improving Covid-19 numbers. The election will be held on June 8th.
There will be some additional overnight bridge closures on the Middle Thorofare Bridge in the coming weeks. County officials announced that the bridge will be closed overnight on March 23rd, March 26th, and again on April 6th. The bridge, which connects the southern Wildwoods to Lower Township, will open the next morning at 5:00am.

Murphy told the network today that the state’s even day average is up by eight percent over the past week. The number of hospitalizations is also on the rise.
Lower Cape May Regional High School is the mock trial champions of New Jersey. Lower Cape May came out on top of a field that included participation from 196 schools statewide. The team included Nikolas Frey, Holly Karavanas, Liv Longshore, Elise Heim, John Payne, and Anna Davids, according to a release.
New Jersey has provided nearly 3.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccine to date. There are 1.2 million New Jersey residents who are now fully vaccinated. The state reported 2,599 new cases of the virus on Sunday, with 40 new confirmed deaths, including one in Cape May County.
Ocean City has cancelled its popular Doo Dah Parade for the second straight spring. Mayor Jay Gillian says the move is necessary due to the prohibition of outdoor gatherings larger than 50 enacted by the State. The Parade was to be held on April 17th.
A 68 year old woman from Lower Township is the latest casualty from Covid-19 in Cape May County. Officials say there were 34 new positive samples reported on Sunday. Middle Township has 67 of the 302 cases of the virus locally.
New Jersey officials say one out of every six people are now fully vaccinated from coronavirus. State officials announced Friday that there were 27 additional deaths reported in the past 24 hours. Governor Murphy says the state has hit a plateau.
