Lower Township Police have issued an alert for 70 year old Dale McElfresh who was reported missing Sunday afternoon. Police say McElfresh was last seen walking on Breakwater Road in the vicinity of Shunpike Road. Police are asking the public to call them in the event McElfresh is located.
County Commissioner Marie Hayes has been named “Commissioner of the Year” by the New Jersey Association of Counties. The annual convention for NJAC was held last week in Atlantic City. Hayes has served on the Commission for the past eight years.
The coronavirus cases in Cape May County are dropping. New figures released by the County on Monday show only 320 active residential cases of the virus. Seven communities have either zero cases, or their cases are in the single digits.
A 27 year old man from Vineland was killed during a motor vehicle accident on Route 55 Saturday morning. Police say Ryan May was driving southbound on the highway when his car left the road and struck a tree. State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
Starting today, all school workers and state employees must be vaccinated or be tested for coronavirus once or twice per week. Today is the deadline for the employees to be vaccinated, according to an order signed previously by Governor Murphy. Both orders also apply to part time workers.
21 year old Joshua Ford of Atlantic City has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after he fired shots at a car Saturday that had two infants inside. Police say one man was wounded in the shooting that took place in the city Saturday afternoon. The crime occurred on Caspian Avenue.

Lower Township’s council meets Monday evening and is expected to introduce an ordinance that amends a land development ordinance that permits the sale and delivery of cannabis in the community. This ordinance amendment will undergo a second reading and public hearing on November 15th.
