Some retail stores and chain restaurants are now requiring customers and employees to mask up. McDonald’s and Apple stores are requiring everyone to wear a mask; stores that now require employees to wear a mask include Acme, Home Depot, Starbucks, Lowe’s, and Wawa. Other locations in select areas include TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, and Marshalls.

A major triathlon to be held in Atlantic City Saturday will result in some road closures and detours. Over 1,300 athletes will participate in the event. Saturday morning there will be three exits closed on the Atlantic City Expressway: Exits 5, 4 and 2 between the hours of 5-11am.

Avalon has concluded an emergency dredging project in Pennsylvania Harbor. The Borough’s contractor wrapped up the project on Wednesday and demobilized equipment on Thursday. A shoaled in area of the Harbor was cleaned up during this project.
Some public buildings are now requiring masks for entry. Avalon officials announced that masks will be required for entry into public buildings starting Monday. The Cape May County Library System also announced that masks are now required in the library regardless of vaccination status.

Former Atlantic City Police Sergeant Joseph Falcone lost his life in a motorcycle accident Thursday. Authorities say Falcone was killed on Zion Road when an individual who was driving a pickup truck crossed into the path of Falcone’s motorcycle. Egg Harbor Township Police say Falcone was killed at the scene, he was 54 years old.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy ripped into people who have decided not to get the coronavirus vaccine. During an event Wednesday, Murphy called out those people saying “You’ve lost your minds, you’re the ultimate knuckleheads”. He also said people are losing their lives because some people won’t get the vaccine.
