A major bridge contract is expected to be awarded by the Cape May County Freeholders on Tuesday. The Board is expected to approve a resolution that would award a contract to Midlantic Construction LCC for $1.2 million; that money will be used for Lafayette Street Bridge over Cape Island Creek repairs.

Two cars crashed on the Atlantic City Expressway early Monday morning, and one driver was sent to the hospital. State Police say it happened in the eastbound lanes near the Pleasantville toll plaza around 1:30am on Monday. A light pole was knocked down during the accident which remains under investigation.
