The Cape May City Council has removed much of the powers and assignments from Councilman Chris Bezaire. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Council made the move now that Bezaire has pleaded guilty to charges involving stalking a former girlfriend. Two members of Council abstained from the vote, including Bezaire himself.
The milling and paving of several roads in the City of Wildwood will begin Tuesday. City officials announced on their website that sections of Arctic, Lincoln, Magnolia, and Maple avenues will be worked on this week. The schedule for work is issued on the city’s municipal website.

State officials reported over the weekend that the number of people who are hospitalized with coronavirus is dropping in New Jersey. The State reported another 2,200 Covid-19 cases on Saturday with an additional 17 deaths.
The Mount Vernon Motel in Cape May will be demolished. The Cape May Star and Wave reports that approvals have been granted to subdivide the lot for the construction of single family homes. Two lots will be created.
North Wildwood Police have issued several advisories in advance of the huge Irish Festival weekend. Police say backpacks and coolers will not be allowed in the staging area for the event. Open displays of alcoholic beverages outside of the festival area will be strictly prohibited.
