Amazon is adding 2,000 new jobs to the Garden State. The company announced that it will open two new fulfillment centers in the state, one of them in Burlington County. Amazon already boasts of 5,500 jobs created in New Jersey before these two new centers open.
A former petty officer at the Cape May Coast Guard base has been sentenced to six months confinement for a sexual assault. Petty Officer Third Class William Fisher will be dishonorably discharged from the Coast Guard as a result of the sentence. Fisher is serving his sentence in Virginia.

Don’t even think about skipping tolls on the Atlantic City Expressway, or you will be caught. The South Jersey Transportation Authority has announced a crackdown on toll cheats in a partnership with New Jersey State Police. Interchanges along the Expressway that have a record of toll cheats will be targeted, beginning on May 1st.
On Tuesday afternoon a brush fire burned 95 acres in Winslow Township, Camden County. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service fought the blaze on Piney Hollow Road near Banger’s Gun Club. Ocean City may try to purchase the site of a former BP Gasoline station. Council has negotiated a purchase price just shy of a half million dollars for the property which sits near the Route 52 causeway. There are currently three closed gasoline stations on the Ninth Street corridor in the resort.
