Cape May County has kicked off a pilot program of its Fare Free Transportation service in Ocean City. The service will be like a ride share service where customers are dropped off point to point for doctors’ appointments, shopping, and other short trips. Lower Township is expected to make improvements to the Rotary Community Park. The Township Council meets tonight and is expected to award a contract to Mott MacDonald to begin the process of making improvements. Council is also expected to award liquor licenses at tonight’s meeting.
Middle Township officials are expected to take the next step towards creating its Law Enforcement Community Engagement Committee during today’s Committee meeting. The Committee is also expected to ask the County to conduct a speed limit survey on Reeds Beach Road. The Committee meets at 6:00pm.
29 year old Michael Lamond Jr. of Williamstown lost his life early Sunday morning when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on the Atlantic City Expressway collided with his car. State Police say the accident took place on the westbound lanes when a vehicle was heading eastbound. The crash remains under investigation.

There were only two new cases of coronavirus in Cape May County Sunday. Two new cases were reported, including in Middle Township, which has approximately one fifth of all cases in the County. The number of non resident active cases is at six; long term care active cases stand at seven.
New Jersey’s rate of transmission of coronavirus continues to climb.
