Crowds for indoor weddings and funerals have been increased by the State of New Jersey. Governor Murphy has allowed for crowds as high as 150 or 25 percent of a room’s capacity, whichever number is lower. Groups seating together will be limited to eight per table.
There will be some major work being performed on the New Jersey-bound side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Starting next Wednesday, lanes will be closed on the bridge for a major bridge deck overlay project. The project is expected to continue through October 9th.
Wildwood has announced a partnership with the County on a redevelopment initiative that targets the Pacific Avenue business district. The city and the county are working together to use tools and incentives to improve the business experience. Four collaborative sessions are planned in the fall to discuss goals and processes to revitalize Pacific Avenue.
The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol has announced limited protection of bathing beaches after next Monday, Labor Day. Ten beaches will be protected from September 8th through the 11th, and bathing beaches will not be protected after Sunday, September 13th. As always, they advise you to only enter the water in the presence of a lifeguard.
Movie theaters in New Jersey are allowed to open on Friday. Governor Murphy announced that theaters will once again be allowed to open their doors in time for Labor Day weekend. There will be capacity limits inside the theaters. Indoor performance venues may also again open this Friday.
New Jersey has added 352 new cases of coronavirus on Monday. State health officials also report eight additional deaths. The rate of transmission still remains below the magic figure of one, at .90 percent.

North Wildwood’s council meets Tuesday afternoon and is expected to pass a resolution that will authorize the solicitation of requests for proposals for a potential consolidation of firefighting and rescue services on the Five Mile Beach. Indoor dining finally resumes in New Jersey on Friday. Governor Phil Murphy announced on his social media page that restaurants can once again open for indoor dining starting this Friday, at 25 percent capacity. Social distancing will be required between tables.
