The Press of Atlantic City reports that Mort Schmerling has died; Schmerling’s death was announced by the Upper Township Rescue Squad over the weekend. A beach replenishment project heads back to Ocean City. A dredge owned by Great Lakes departed Sea Isle City and is expected to work on Ocean City’s beaches between 52nd and 59th streets.
