State Senator Mike Testa is crucifying Rutgers University over saddling taxpayers with a $73 million deficit created by athletics. Testa says that taxpayers are now asking to fund Rutgers’ costly and highly publicized financial woes. Testa notes that the increased spending happened during a time where state residents were suffering financially through the Covid pandemic.
A 35 year old inmate from Bayside State Prison escaped early Thursday morning and was apprehended a short time later. NJ.com reports that Peter Rusch is serving a 17 year sentence for robbery and weapons possession, and he escaped the facility. Rusch was apprehended outside by corrections’ staff.

The Garden State Parkway in Brick has been reopened to traffic in both directions after being closed for several hours on Wednesday.
