Nearly two years after the Showboat Casino/Hotel closed it’s doors in Atlantic City, the Showboat Hotel reopened on Friday without casino games. The hotel has 852 oceanfront rooms and suites and has retained it’s Mardi Gras theme. Amenities include a bar, two restaurants, a coffee shop and a gym, but no gambling.

One man was killed when two boats collided on the Barnegat Bay in Ocean County Sunday afternoon. There was a fatal pedestrian-motor vehicle accident near the Cumberland Mall on Saturday. Vineland Police say 33 year old Patricia Pennington of Bridgeton was killed when a vehicle struck her on South Delsea Drive. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 26 year old Jonathan Santos of Seabrook. The accident remains under investigation.
Tremendous crowds in North Wildwood over the weekend for the New Jersey State Barbecue Championship and Anglesea Blues Festival. The weekend event featured plenty of food, music, and beverages and tens of thousands of visitors participated. The event started 18 years ago and features a $10,000 prize for the best barbecue.
Stone Harbor has its own electric vehicle charging station. Borough officials announced that the car charging station is located at the 94th Street parking lot in the Borough. The station is available for use by the public 24 hours a day, and can provide a full charge for a vehicle within a half hour.
