A big win in Vineland for a political ticket fronted by Mayor-elect Anthony Fanucci. The Cumberland County Clerk’s office declared Fanucci the winner, and his five-member ticket as winners as well. There will be no runoff election which will save the city tens of thousands of dollars.
A fatal motor vehicle accident Monday evening involving a pedestrian on Jimmie Leeds Road in Galloway Township. Police say 70 year old Ayalew Beyene was struck and killed by a pickup truck driven by 21 year old Edgar Pelaez-Ruiz of Pleasantville. Police closed the roadway for two hours as they investigated.

A new Coast Guard cutter will be commissioned Saturday in Cape May. The “Rollin Fritch” is a 154-foot fast response cutter named after a seaman who died during World War II. It will be stationed in Cape May and will patrol from New Jersey to North Carolina.
