Senate President Steve Sweeney is supporting fellow democrat Phil Murphy for governor. Sweeney announced on Thursday that he is supporting Murphy after Sweeney himself thought about a gubernatorial run but decided against it. Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto has also endorsed Murphy.
A 60 year old man lost his life Thursday during an accident at work. Authorities say Johnnie Tharp of Sewell was killed when tablets of marble fell on him at the Dente Trading Marble and Granite Company in Washington Township. Officials gave him CPR but to no avail. A 42 year old New Brunswick man has been convicted of killing two people in Bridgeton. Juan Hernandez was convicted on charges relating to the slayings of two men during the summer of 2014; those men allegedly competed with Hernandez’ own brothel business.
