There is now a 20 day waiting period for cuts to occur at the Atlantic City Fire Department. A judge ruled Tuesday that appeals will be taking place over that period. A union representing the firefighters say irreparable harm” will occur if the cuts are to be made. ##

Avalon’s Borough Council will vote on a new budget Wednesday night. The new spending plan in Avalon is expected to have a zero increase in the local tax rate. Avalon will also consider the adoption of new FEMA flood maps to provide flood insurance relief for hundreds of property owners. ##

A small tax increase of slightly less than a penny for North Wildwood residents this year. City Council met on Monday and approved a spending plan with a small tax hike in the $29 million spending plan.
