North Wildwood’s city council meets Tuesday morning and is expected to review the city’s audit report for last year, and authorize the renewal of several liquor licenses. Stone Harbor’s council will consider funding for a new public safety building Tuesday afternoon. Council will meet and consider a $1.5 million supplemental appropriation for the construction of a new building that will house police headquarters. ##
Major recognition this week for Middle Township High School standout sports star Bridget Ruskey. Risky was named the Philadelphia Inquirer’s senior athlete of the year over the weekend. Risky was a three sport athlete for the Panthers and ended her career with 485 goals in girls lacrosse. ##
A long section of Route 47 in Cape May and Cumberland counties may be dedicated to veterans. Senator Jeff Van Drew announced that Veterans Memorial Highway at Delsea Drive would stretch from Wildwood north to Maurice River Township. Veterans organizations may soon contribute for signage along the highway. ##
A 23 year old Egg Harbor Township woman captured the Miss New Jersey Pageant Saturday night at the Ocean City Music Pier. Kaitlyn Schoeffel competed in the pageant for six years as Miss Eastern Shore, and will represent the Garden State in the Miss America Pageant in September. ##
Vineland Police are mourning the death of 33 year old Special Class I Police Officer Charles Amadei who was killed in a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon while off duty. Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian was involved in a minor pedestrian-motor vehicle accident over the weekend. Police say a seven year old girl ran onto Route 30 and struck the car that was being driven by Guardian. The girl suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital. ##
A groundbreaking event will be held next Saturday in Wildwood for the new Byrne Plaza that will be located in the downtown district. The new plaza will be the host site for many future downtown events in Wildwood including the popular farmers’ markets, Tuesday night free movies, and downtown Wildwood marketplaces. ##
