Another drug bust at a Middle Township motel on Friday. Middle Township Police arrested 26 year old Alicia Hernandez at the Dutchman’s Motel and found 60 bags of heroin in her possession. She was taken to the Cape May County Jail on drug offenses, and for an outstanding warrant. ##
Regis Philbin is coming to Ocean City to host the Mr. Mature Pageant Saturday night. The 85 year old host and entertainer will be the grand marshal in the Doo Dah Parade Saturday before hosting the pageant later that night. ##
The driver of a vehicle that ran off the Garden State Parkway in Cranford was killed Friday morning. State Police say the driver sped off the Parkway Friday around 6am before slamming into a tree. No cause of the accident nor an identity of the driver have been revealed. ##

Some heavy storms brought lightning and gusty winds to the region on Thursday. The National Weather Service now predicts there won’t be a chance of a rainy day over the next week. Sunshine is forecasted through the weekend with temperatures in the upper 50s before a big warmup Monday through Wednesday. ##
A major drug bust in Hamilton Township Thursday night recovered guns and narcotics. Police say two men in their 50s from Mays Landing were arrested after authorities found drugs, drug scales, two handguns and a shotgun inside their home on Harbor Avenue. Both men were hauled off to jail. ##
A 35 year old man was injured while he was riding his bicycle and was struck by a car near Holy Spirit High School in Absecon. Authorities say the driver sped off and left the scene of the accident; police are asking the public for information about this accident. ##
The Lower Township Department of Public Works was busy this winter completing nearly three dozen beach paths in North Cape and the Villas. More paths could be constructed at other beach access points in the community. ##
A long time teacher in the Dennis Township School District will retire in June. The Gazette Leader reports that Lance Hammell will retire after teaching physical education in the school district for nearly three decades. He also coached every sport in Dennis Township except baseball. ##
