A major milestone has been reached in the career of Lower Township Police Lt. William Priole. Priole graduated from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy. Three other members of the department have also completed this program. ##
Vineland Police are searching for a 14 year old boy who has been missing since Monday. Terrance Williams frequents areas in Vineland, Bridgeton and Atlantic City. He was last seen at his home on South East Street. ##
A 26 year old Wildwood man has been charged in connection with several car thefts in Gloucester County. Justin R. Lahn was busted by police departments in Franklin and Newfield for the thefts, which allegedly occurred in March and April. ##
Ocean City has fired 54 year old Alesia Watson as the executive director of the city’s housing authority. Watson was fired after she pleaded guilty to charges that embezzled funds while on the job. Watson used public funds to buy nearly 70 MasterCard gift cards for her family. ##
The State of New Jersey is over a half billion dollars short of projected revenue for the year, so cuts are being made. State treasury officials told lawmakers this week that Homestead property tax rebate reimbursements will be withheld for two months to local towns as a way to make up for the revenue shortfall.…
The voice recorder has been found from the Lear jet that crashed in northern New Jersey earlier this week. The National Transportation Safety Board began its investigation Tuesday, and officials on site say the wind was a concern at the time of the accident that claimed two lives. ##
A local music legend has passed away at the age of 73. Herb “Bubba Mac” Birch died Tuesday morning following a long music career at the Jersey Shore which also saw him Bubba Mac’s Shack in Somers Point 17 years ago. The Gazette Leader reports that Birch had several health issues recently. ##
The Cape May County Department of Health will soon begin its coastal monitoring program. The program kicks off on May 30th and requires the County to routinely test 61 ocean and one back bay site for water quality. ##
Lower Township Police have charged a 26 year old man from North Cape May with multiple drug offenses following a motor vehicle stop 12 days ago. Brendon Glinecke was arrested after police found drugs in his vehicle. Glinecke resisted arrest and was eventually processed on several criminal charges. ##
