Margate’s long standing issues with a dune and beach project continued Sunday as residents protested the resumption of the work, scheduled to begin again on Tuesday. A federal judge ruled that the project may continue, but any area with more than two inches of standing water must be roped off from the public. ##
Wildwood’s first major beach concert of the season appears to be a no-go. Various ticket outlets including Ticketfly reported over the weekend that a concert featuring Asia, War, and a former lead singer from Journey scheduled for August 19th is “postponed”. No reason has been given for the postponement. ##

A rally is planned for Sunday afternoon in Margate against the dune project that has formed huge lakes of rainwater on the beaches. A federal judge has ruled that the project may continue, but urged officials to take their time so nuisance issues can be avoided. ##
A man who was running from police after committing a shoplifting at a Wawa convenience store in Woodbury decided to jump into a lake to avoid detection..and he never made it out. A Millville man who killed his father over a lid belonging to a teapot eight years ago has been denied his appeal. Dreu Ferguson Jr. was convicted of killing his father, then covering the body with lime and buried his father under the back porch of the family home. ##
The weekly Saturday night concert in Wildwood Crest has been postponed due to the rain. Jamison Celtic Rock was supposed to play a free concert at Centennial Park in the Crest tonight, but the soggy conditions have postponed it; no makeup date has been announced. ##
North Wildwood is expected to consider an ordinance this week that would create a vacant property registration for the city. Council is also expected to establish standards for a new vegetation management plan, and introduce an ordinance for the extension of Seaport Pier Redevelopment Plan. The meeting begins Tuesday at 10am. ##
