The National Weather Service has posted a Coastal Flood Warning for Cape May County through Wednesday at 1am. Minor coastal flooding is possible at time of high tide this morning; moderate coastal flooding is possible this evening. High tide occurs along the back bays this evening around 8:20pm.
Governor Christie announced Monday that drug companies will begin working on non-addictive pain medications in order to help combat the opioid crisis. Christie held a press conference in Trenton Monday and stressed that the public and private sectors must work together to solve this problem.
A 36 year old employee of Galloway Township has been arrested and charged with misconduct and theft. Jennifer Diluzio works as an administrative assistant for the Township. She was charged by police after irregularities in the Township’s recreation department finances were discovered.
The arraignment of former Atlantic County doctor James Kauffman on weapons charges will not be held Thursday as planned. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the arraignment has been postponed by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office; no new date has been announced. Kauffman remains in custody after being arrested in June.
New Jersey likely will not be raising the State’s gasoline tax in October. The State is obligated to review the gasoline tax every year before November 1st, and all indications are the 23-cent gas tax will not be adjusted. The tax generates over $1.2 billion annually for the Garden State.
