Stone Harbor’s Borough Council will meet Tuesday and will consider some major changes to the construction schedules in the community. Council will discuss potential ordinance changes that would prohibit demolitions from July 1st through Labor Day. Council may also discuss the prohibition of Sunday construction from July 1st through early September.
The Cape May City Council is expected to hold a special meeting late Tuesday afternoon. Council will hold a discussion with the Public Safety Building Advisory Committee. It is the only item on the special meeting agenda.

A fire struck a Hamilton Township condo complex Friday night. Township Police say the fire was in the 3500 block of Woodland Drive. All occupants were able to escape safely; there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

1,100 emergency workers from New Jersey are headed to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane recovery. Governor Christie ordered the workers to Puerto Rico to assist with citizens who were devastated by Hurricane Maria. State and local police, along with the New Jersey National Guard, are en route.

Nine people were injured Friday afternoon during a large apartment fire in Lakewood. Officials say the blaze torched several units of the Covington Village Apartments that houses people 55 and older. Heavy fire was on all three floors when the firemen arrived.
