Governor Chris Christie has nominated current Cape May County Democratic Party chairman Jeff Sutherland as the new prosecutor for Cape May County. Sutherland is very likely to be confirmed by the New Jersey Senate, and he will replace Robert Taylor who retired earlier this year. Sutherland is an attorney and lives in Ocean City.

A new route for Middle Township’s annual Christmas parade Friday night. The parade will begin at 6pm on Pacific Avenue in Cape May Court House, then proceed north on Route 9, then turn left on Mechanic Street. The lineup for the parade starts at 5pm.
Some Cape May County residents felt the earth move slightly late Thursday afternoon as a small earthquake in Delaware caused some shaking of the ground in South Jersey. The earthquake measured 4.1 on the Richter scale. There are no reports of injuries or property damage.
