A 32 year old Millville man faces up to three decades behind bars now that he’s been convicted of first degree murder. Neri Sanchez was convicted on charges that he shot another man in the back of the head back in 2014. The shooting occurred at the Oak View Apartments in Millville.
Jeff Sutherland is the new Prosecutor for Cape May County. The New Jersey Senate confirmed Sutherland for the job on Thursday; he replaces Bob Taylor, who recently resigned from the position. Sutherland has been the Chairman for the Cape May County Democratic Party.
Former Cape May County Sheriff Jim Plousis is the new chairman of the Casino Control Commission. The New Jersey Senate approved Plousis’ nomination to the position by Governor Christie. The position pays $141,000 annually.
Wildwood Crest Police have charged a 49 year old Borough woman with allegedly having sexual contact with a 15 year old boy. Police say Margaret Woods was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of the child. The alleged encounter occurred this past summer.
A 74 year old pastor from Medford Township has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting minors for more than a decade. WPVI-TV reports that Harry Thomas has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault and with endangering the welfare of children. Thomas was arrested Wednesday morning.
A 34 year old Wildwood man has been charged by police in Wildwood Crest for committing a residential burglary last weekend. Jamie Moncrief is accused of breaking into a home on Morning Glory Road in Wildwood Crest. Moncrief was charged with burglary, aggravated assault on a police officer, and other offenses.
