Vineland Police broke ground Wednesday on a brand new public safety building. The new police station will cost $20 million and should be completed by the end of the year. The Cumberland County Improvement Authority is funding both the acquisition of land and the construction for the building.

A federal judge has tossed some of the charges against Senator Robert Menendez but allowed many charges to stick for a potential re-trial on a corruption complaint. United States District Judge William Walls denied requests by Menendez’ attorneys for an acquittal on all charges. The federal government plans to proceed expeditiously with the new trial.
A Lakewood man has started a petition to raise the legal speed limit on the Garden State Parkway to 75 mph. A two-vehicle traffic accident on Route 40 in Hamilton Township resulted in a serious injury to one of the drivers. Police say a car driven by Jihad Ali of Millville crossed the center line of the highway and struck another vehicle. Ali was was transported by medics to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Middle Township Police arrested a 27 year old woman who threatened to blow up “unemployment” and Atlantic Cape Community College on Facebook. Dara Kingsman was criminally charged accordingly with terroristic threats and was released without incident. The campus of the local college was searched; nothing was found.
