Two people have been rescued after being stranded in a marsh in Lower Always Creek Township. The local fire company got a call that two people were stranded during low tide, so they put their airboat into service to make the rescue before sunset. There were no injuries.

26 year old Daniel Ray of Morristown won the 19th annual Ocean Drive Marathon Sunday on a new course that took runners twice through Avalon and Stone Harbor. Ray finished the marathon in just over 2 hours and 48 minutes, winning the event by about five minutes. ##
A 26 year old Bridgeton man has been indicted on charges that he set a former bowling alley on fire in Fairfield Township. Todd Lloyd was arrested following an investigation by State Police. Lloyd was indicted on burglary and aggravated arson offenses. ##
Governor Christie is calling for Cuba to hand over Joanne Chesimard, the woman accused of killing State Trooper Werner Foerster. This weekend marked the 40th anniversary of Chesimard’s conviction. He was killed during a traffic stop on the New Jersey Turnpike in 1973.

Lower Township Police have charges a 31 year old man with allegedly selling drugs that were located in a home on Gorham Avenue in North Cape May. 31 year old David Fletcher III was charged with distribution and possession offenses. He’s currently held at the County Jail. ##
