A 16 year old boy from Galloway Township attempted to build his own assault rifle. Authorities in the Township say the boy was arrested last week after he was caught having all of the parts to build an AR 15 assault rifle. Police did not find ammo for the weapon. ##

The body of a man who was found floating last week near a marina in Salem County has been identified. Authorities say the body was that of 30 year old Jonathan Thompson Jr. of Salem who had been missing since March 20th. The cause of death is accidental drowning. ##
State troopers must pay their own tolls driving to and from work. A state appeals court ruled that two highway authorities in New Jersey acted correctly when they stopped the practice of giving troopers free tolls as they drove to and from work. Governor Christie ended that practice in 2010. ##
The New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council met in Galloway Township Thursday evening to discuss further strategies to fight rules that would reduce the summer flounder catch locally by 30 percent. The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission approved the new reductions and will further discuss the plan at a meeting on May 10th. ##

The television show “Beach Front Bargain Hunt” will be filming an episode later this month in Wildwood Crest. The Cape May County herald reports that the show will be filmed in various locations in the Crest starting on April 29th, and a special events permit was granted to the company to conduct the shoot. ##
