Governor Phil Murphy has signed an executive order that directs the State to implement the Offshore Wind Economic Development Act. Murphy says it’s time for the State to take action on offshore wind power. His order now allows the State Board of Public Utilities to create various rules to get projects underway.

Someone was passing around photos of alleged muddy water coming out of the taps at Vineland High School on Friday. School officials say they received numerous copies of the photos but alas, they were all fakes. The school quickly noticed that the school doesn’t even have the taps that were noted in the photos.

A 49-year run for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Plant in New Jersey is coming to an end. Officials announced Friday that the plant will close its doors for good in October. The plant is located in Forked River.
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has joined in a multi-state coalition that opposes any federal plan to drill for fuel off the beaches of the Garden State. Grewal says this move could have devastating environmental and economic effects for New Jersey. Some coastal states are vigorously fighting this proposal.
Woodbine will hold a preconstruction meeting later this month on a new eco-park project. Mayor William Pikolycky announced that a $700,000 contract has been awarded to help preserve a 25-acre tract of land next to the Woodbine Elementary School that will include both passive and active recreation.

A major achievement Wednesday night for Middle Township wrestler Gary Nagle. Nagle tied the all time Panther win record Wednesday with his 88th win of his career as Middle beat Lakewood, 42-36. Nagle competes in the 182 pound weight class.
