A 26 year old Atlantic City man has admitted to sexually assaulting a seven year old child. Darnell Luke pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault last week, and he could face up to 15 years in prison. Luke will be sentenced in April.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a car that was located in the Mullica River Monday morning with a body inside. Police were called the river and believe the Honda Civic went through an intersection and straight into the river. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
A key Senate committee approved a measure Monday that would require Atlantic City casinos to stay open during a government shutdown. The measure would allow the gaming halls to operate continually, even during a shutdown; current law permits the casinos to stay open for only seven days.
