The Philadelphia Eagles are the biggest Super Bowl underdog since 2009. Various casinos in Las Vegas put the Eagles at between five and 6.5 point underdogs to the New England Patriots, who are trying to win their third championship in four years. The betting favorite has won 33 of 51 Super Bowls.
A 22 year old Vineland woman was killed Friday during a motor vehicle accident on Route 49 in Maurice River Township. State Police say Destiny Galafa died in Friday night’s crash near milepost 42. Her vehicle crossed into a westbound lane and collided with a pickup truck. So far, no charges have been filed.
Governor Phil Murphy has called for a review of the State’s tax credit program. Murphy signed an executive order over the weekend that calls for the review of what the State is giving up, and potentially receives in return. Murphy says he wants to make sure New Jersey is attracting both large and small companies.
Upper Township’s governing body will meet Monday evening to hold a workshop meeting on the new Township budget. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm and be held one hour in advance of the regular meeting of the Township Committee.

A 49 year old Williamstown man has been arrested and charged with a robbery at a Wawa convenience store in Upper Deerfield this month. Hiral Washington was arrested after police followed up on leads that were posted on social media. Washington stole coffee and cigarettes from the store on January 8th.
A grand jury seated in Cape May County has indicted a special officer with the Millville Police Department on child pornography charges. 31 year old Samuel F. Brozina was arrested last summer and was charged with a third degree child endangerment offense. The images were found on his cellphone.
A 21 year old New Jersey man travelled to California to have sex with a seventh grade child. Authorities say Michael Anaya-Otero flew twice to California allegedly to have sex with the child and video the encounter. He was arrested on January 5th and could face up to 30 years in prison.
Senator Robert Menendez says he will seek re-election this year even though the federal government will try him again on corruption charges. The feds announced on Friday that Menendez will be subject to another trial as soon as possible; his first trial ended with a deadlocked jury.
Cape May County ranks tenth in the Garden State in the number of flu and pneumonia deaths from 2005 through 2015. NJ.com reports that there were 13.1 deaths per 100,000 people during that decade, placing us tenth on the list. The total number of deaths from both illnesses was 23.
