New Jersey’s worsening Covid-19 numbers show an additional 79 deaths over the past 24 hours. The State also reported 25,277 new cases of the virus. There are now more than 5,000 people hospitalized with the virus, the highest number since the early stages of the pandemic.
The winter storm has forced the cancellation of in-person classes at Atlantic Cape Community College and Stockton University. Stockton is operating virtually on Tuesday. Atlantic Cape announced that all three campuses are closed Tuesday and expect to operate as usual on Wednesday.
Stone Harbor will officially hold its reorganization meeting today. Two individuals will be sworn in to Council, Bernadette Parzych and Frank Dallahan. Nominations will be accepted for president of Council and various appointments will be made.
Cape May County’s Covid-19 numbers continue to grow. 206 new cases of the virus were added over the past 24 hours, and the County is nearing 2,000 overall active cases. Middle Township leads the way with 517 active cases. All communities have at least double digit case loads except Cape May Point and West Wildwood.

Today’s snowstorm has caused the cancellation of tonight’s Wildwood Planning/Zoning Board meeting. Four applications were to be heard by the Board, and they will now be considered at a later date.

Driving is treacherous in Cape May County Monday afternoon due to the winter storm. Lower Township officials announced that its emergency operation center is open, and multiple motor vehicle accidents have occurred throughout the County.
