The public health emergency comes to an end in the Garden State Monday. Governor Phil Murphy announced that the emergency is over. The emergency began in March, 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic landed in New Jersey. Murphy held his final Covid briefing on Friday.
Dig deep for gas in the Garden State. Some New Jersey gas stations are now charging well in excess of four dollars per gallon for gasoline. One gasoline station in the northern part of the state was a penny shy of five dollars per gallon as of Friday morning.

Wildwood Police announced that it is adding two explosive detection dogs to its K-9 unit. The dogs will be specifically trained to detect firearms and explosives. The dogs are being acquired by Wildwood Police free of charge courtesy of donations. The dogs will undergo a 12-week training assignment.
NJ.com reports that a 54 year old male inmate at the Cumberland County Jail is dead, likely the victim of a suicide. The man was found dead in his cell late Tuesday afternoon. The cause of death is pending autopsy results, according to the report.
