Absegami High School was locked down for a brief time Wednesday morning after one student threatened another with what turned out to be a fake gun. Authorities locked down the high school and two other nearby schools until police arrived and determined that the gun was not real. A teenage high school student was arrested.

Two people were killed Tuesday afternoon during an accident on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River. State Police say the driver and passenger of the vehicle were both killed when the car they were driving in overturned on a median. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

A 51 year old New Jersey man was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening in Egg Harbor Township. Police announced that David M. Bryne of Brick was killed when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 29 year old Isreal Torres of Ventnor. The investigation continues; no summonses have been issued.
A man who was working on a road sign on the Atlantic City Expressway was injured Tuesday morning when the sign fell on top of him. WPVI-TV reports that the accident occurred in Hamilton Township, in the westbound lanes. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
