Ocean City Councilman Robert Barr will be holding a Fourth Ward general meeting Saturday at the Ocean City Library. Barr says the meeting will start at 10:00am and residents can bring up any concerns or questions they may have. ##
Ocean City has fired 54 year old Alesia Watson as the executive director of the city’s housing authority. Watson was fired after she pleaded guilty to charges that embezzled funds while on the job. Watson used public funds to buy nearly 70 MasterCard gift cards for her family. ##
A local music legend has passed away at the age of 73. Herb “Bubba Mac” Birch died Tuesday morning following a long music career at the Jersey Shore which also saw him Bubba Mac’s Shack in Somers Point 17 years ago. The Gazette Leader reports that Birch had several health issues recently. ##
Ocean City will be updating property owners on a dredging project during a public meeting to be held Saturday, June 3rd. Mayor Jay Gillian announced that the meeting will be held at the Ocean City Tabernacle to update the public on the current dredging project and to discuss long term dredging solutions. ##
A beach fill project is coming to Ocean City, likely in the fall. The United States Army Corps of Engineers announced that the city will receive a beach fill totaling about 550,000 cubic yards of sand and will extend from Seaview Road to 13th Street. ##

23 year old Patrick Hartman of Millville has been charged with child pornography and sexual assault offenses stemming from an incident in Cape May County. Hartman was arrested in Ocean City last Thursday following a search warrant at his home in Millville. ##
South Jersey Gas will be restoring streets in Ocean City this week. The utility will be repairing streets that were disturbed during the installation of high pressure lines earlier this year. Portions of Asbury Avenue and West Avenue will be affected. ##
