68 year old Robert Girardo of Ocean City and three others have all been charged with scamming money out of a Superstorm Sandy relief program. Girardo has been charged with taking over $130,000 from the program for which he was not entitled. He is charged with second degree theft by deception.
No injuries are reported after a small plane nose dived into a grassy area next to the Ocean City Municipal Airport on Saturday. The plane crashed nose first Saturday morning. The Cessna C140 went into a marshy area; wind is expected to be a factor in the accident.
There was a structure fire in Ocean City early Saturday morning that resulted in no injuries. Authorities say the fire started in a home located on the 4000 block of Central Avenue shortly before 5:30am. Fire crews extinguished a fire in a crawl space and a first floor bathroom.
