John Stevenson is the new police chief in North Wildwood. According to the Department’s website, Stevenson was elevated from Captain to Chief, and William Etsell is the new Captain. This follows two retirements in the Department on Wednesday.
The Anglesea Night Market was slated to return this evening to North Wildwood, but it will not. Forecasts are calling for heavy thunderstorms and rain Thursday night, so the night market has been postponed due to anticipated inclement weather.
North Wildwood is getting a new police chief today. City Council will meet Wednesday at 5pm in a special meeting to select a new police chief due to a retirement. The meeting will be held at the Lou Booth Amphitheater.

North Wildwood Police have made an arrest in connection with an assault on the city’s boardwalk. Police had issued photos of the suspect they were looking for and announced Friday they have charged a 17 year old male from Turnersville. He was charged with a second degree charge of aggravated assault.
North Wildwood Police have released a photo of a male who is wanted in connection with an assault on the city’s boardwalk early Monday morning. Police say the assault took place at 17th Street and the boardwalk around 2:00am Monday. If anyone has information about the suspect, they are asked to contact city police.
You will find officers with the North Wildwood Police Department at the city’s Wawa Friday morning. This is no joke, the police are kicking off their “Coffee with a Cop” program Friday. Officers will be at the Wawa convenience store starting at 8:00am for two and a half hours.
North Wildwood’s city council will meet Tuesday afternoon and could accept a high bid for a new hotel/motel exception liquor license. Council is also expected to authorize emergency work for the Fifth Avenue boat ramp. North Wildwood will open its Hereford Inlet Lighthouse on Thursday, June 3rd.
North Wildwood Mayor Patrick Rosenello says residents and visitors will have access to every beach end this weekend. Rosenello says that some sand stockpiles will still exist due to a northeasterly wind that is moving in for the weekend which may cause some erosion.
