North Wildwood has joined the Code Red emergency alert system. Mayor Patrick Rosenello announced that residents will be able to get telephone calls from the city’s office of emergency management before and during storms and other emergencies. North Wildwood has also established a city emergency management website. ##
The Wildwood School District can use a site in North Wildwood for classroom space without permission from North Wildwood. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Judge J. Christopher Gibson has ruled in favor of the Wildwood District, saying it can lease space at the St. Simeon Episcopalian Church annex in North Wildwood. ##
A new fire prevention trailer has been rolled out in North Wildwood. The city used USDA funding and private donations for the purchase of the trailer with no costs absorbed by taxpayers. Various traffic advisories are in effect in North Wildwood this weekend for a two day running event. A 5k run and a children’s run will be held on Saturday, with a half marathon to be held on Sunday. There will be some road closures northbound and westbound on select streets in the city. ##
North Wildwood’s city council meets Tuesday and is expected to introduce an ordinance that would regulate Jitney service. North Wildwood may connect part of the town to an existing Jitney service that runs in Stone Harbor, Avalon, and Sea Isle City. Council will also amend ordinances dealing with streets, sidewalks, and bulkheads. ##
