North Wildwood officials held ceremonies Friday for the unveiling of a new historical marker at 17th and New Jersey Avenues. The marker designates the location for the former site of the West Jersey and Seashore Railroad that had a station there in 1904. It was part of the 4th annual Anglesea Day celebration.

A portion of Surf Avenue in North Wildwood will be closed to traffic on Tuesday. North Wildwood Police announced that Surf Avenue between 7th and 11th streets will be closed today for a paving of the roadway; use an alternate route.

Fire companies responded late Thursday afternoon to a reported gas leak fire at 24th Street and the Boardwalk in North Wildwood. According to fire departments’ social media pages the leak resulted in a fire; no injuries are reported. No word yet on property damage.
A sure sign of summer’s arrival..parking meters get turned on in North Wildwood on Tuesday. City police issued a notice on its social media channels saying that the meters will remain on through the last Sunday in October. Meters are active between 9am and 3am in the entertainment district.
