The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse received a new rotating beacon light courtesy of the United States Coast Guard on Thursday. The new light replaces a unit that operated on the property from 1964 through this May, before malfunctioning. The light had been replaced by a temporary LED lamp.
North Wildwood’s city council meets next Tuesday and is scheduled to hold a second reading and final adoption on an ordinance that regulates the demolitions of buildings. The competitive lifeguard season continues this evening with a marquee event in North Wildwood. The 50th Annual Beschen-Callahan Memorial Lifeguard races will be held this evening on the 15th Avenue beach. The event recognizes two former North Wildwood Beach Patrol members who were killed during the Vietnam War.
North Wildwood Police are asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who is suspected of burglarizing vehicles in the vicinity of 15th and Delaware Avenues. Police say the man entered an unlocked vehicle and attempted to gain access to other vehicles in the area. A photo of the suspect has been released.

A major development project in North Wildwood opens for business tomorrow. The new Seaport Pier, complete with a swimming pool, bars, and restaurants will open Friday on the city’s boardwalk. The Pier will be operating on a limited basis until all of the work is complete.
North Wildwood’s popular Thursday evening summer events are coming back to Anglesea on July 5th. The Anglesea Night Markets return for another summer, starting the day after the Nation’s birthday. Food trucks are a big part of the event with trucks changing from date to date, with acoustic music crafters and other attractions.
North Wildwood Police will be kicking off their summertime “Coffee with a Cop” program Friday morning. Police will be at 15th Street and the Boardwalk to answer any questions or to voice concerns about various public safety issues in the community. The event starts Friday at 9am.
