It’s time to hunt for bear in the Garden State. The black bear hunt got underway Monday and is now open to hunters with bows and arrows. Rifle hunters can participate on Thursday and Friday. The bear hunt is restricted to five zones, none of which are on state property.
Tuesday is your last day to register to vote in the State of New Jersey. Offices in all 21 counties will remain open until 9:00pm so you can register to vote in the upcoming elections. Locally, all three legislative seats, two freeholder seats, and various municipal seats are all up for grabs in November.
This is no fish story..a five year old boy reportedly helped his family catch a 300-pound sunfish while canoeing in Lavallette Sunday. NJ.com reports the boy got the bite on the big fish, and his family helped reel it in. The family eventually released the fish into the open bay.
The Garden State Parkway tops the list of all highways in the state when it comes to the number of total fatal accidents. Last year, there were 22 fatal accidents on the Parkway, down three from the prior year. Route 9 also made the top ten list as it stretches from the Cape May area…
Two New Jersey women have been charged after they were caught cheating at a church bingo game in South Jersey. 71 year old Teresa Davis and 38 year old Keasha Brockington alleged they had a winning bingo card worth $200. Problem is, they taped one of the winning numbers onto a losing bingo card.
Perhaps they are using Windows 98…the computer system for the Motor Vehicle Commission froze this week due to a high demand for Real ID drivers licenses. Commission officials say there has been capacity added to the computer system to handle the anticipated higher volume courtesy of the Real ID licenses.
60 year old Anthony Jackson was killed in a tanker accident on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday. Jackson served as the fire chief for the Logan Volunteer Fire Company in Oldsmans Township, Salem County. His death was announced on social media.
About half of New Jersey’s residents want to see the impeachment of President Donald Trump. A new Farleigh Dickinson University poll shows 36 percent of residents oppose the impeachment process. Trump fares poorly with job approval ratings in New Jersey as his current approval rating stands at 34 percent.
