Today’s snowstorm has closed all state offices in New Jersey. The Motor Vehicle Commission centers are also closed statewide as the storm may put up to eight inches of snow in some parts of the state. Locally, it’s a little snow in the morning before the transition to rain and freezing rain later.
New Jersey reported over 3,700 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday. State officials also confirmed 92 additional deaths from the virus. Over 1 million residents have received their first doses of the virus.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says the state’s reopening is being hindered by the new coronavirus variants that have impacted the Garden State. Murphy says if the variant did not exist, he would be opening up more of the state from the restrictions that have been in place for many months.
More than one million New Jerseyans have received at least their first coronavirus vaccination shot. State officials announced Tuesday that there are 31 additional deaths from the virus, along with 3,144 new cases. The number of hospitalizations is on the decline.
New Jersey reported only 1,222 new coronavirus cases on Monday. State officials also confirmed 14 additional deaths. The State admitted that there may be issues with reporting the number of cases electronically, and Tuesday’s numbers may climb.
New Jersey reported 1,798 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, which is significantly lower than many previous days. There are 15 new confirmed deaths. To date, New Jersey has vaccinated 1.3 million residents with nearly 1 million first doses being provided.
Icy conditions contributed to a 19 vehicle accident on the Garden State Parkway Saturday evening. State police say the accident took place in the southbound lanes around 5:30pm. That section of the Parkway was closed for three hours as the scene was cleared.
New Jersey has announced 64 additional deaths from coronavirus. The announcement was made on Friday. Just under 3,300 new cases of the virus have been reported in New Jersey. The State has now exceeded 1.2 million vaccinations.
Parents and some guardians of high school athletes can start attending sports events that are indoors. Governor Phil Murphy made that announcement on Friday. His new executive order takes place immediately.
New Jersey has given out 1.19 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine to death. 904,399 are first doses, while the rest are second doses, meaning only 285,000 people are completely vaccinated. New Jersey reported just over 3,000 new cases on Thursday, along with 79 confirmed deaths.
