Over two and a half million people have already voted in New Jersey. Governor Murphy made the announcement during his Covid-19 update Monday. That number represents 64 percent of the entire vote total from the last presidential election in 2016.
New Jersey is reporting 1,223 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, along with seven new deaths. State officials say the rate of transmission jumped up considerably to 1.23 percent, which is the highest mark in weeks. There are nearly 1,000 Covid-19 patients in the hospital.
Newark is going to close all indoor dining starting at 8pm, beginning on Tuesday. The mayor of New Jersey’s largest city issued a press release today saying all non-essential businesses will close at that time for the time being. Newark has seen a large spike in coronavirus cases recently.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced Monday that he and his wife have both tested negative, again, for coroanvirus. Murphy says that out of an abundance of caution he will hold his daily Covid-19 briefing virtually, and not in person today.
The United States Coast Guard reports that approximately 55 tons of oil debris have been removed from Delaware beaches on the bay, and on the Atlantic coast. More than 100 personnel have responded to clean up the oil patties from the beaches. There have been no reports the oil has washed ashore in New Jersey.…
New Jersey again topped 1,000 cases of coronavirus on Sunday. That’s the eighth consecutive day where cases topped 1,000. There were four new deaths, and the rate of transmission increased.
New Jersey’s public health emergency has been extended for another 30 days. Governor Murphy announced the extension over the weekend and cites the rising numbers of daily coronavirus cases, and deaths. Over 227,000 cases of the virus have been reported in the Garden State to date.
New Jersey reported 1,139 new coronavirus cases Friday. The state also announced 11 new deaths from the virus. The rate of transmission is at 1.17 percent, which is slightly higher than what the state is looking for as any rate below one means the virus spread is slowing.
There are nearly 1,200 new cases of coronavirus reported Thursday in New Jersey. State health officials say there are 18 new deaths from the virus. New Jersey has had more than 1,000 cases of the virus reported each of the past five days.
Delaware’s Delaware Bay coastline has been impacted this week by globs of oil that have come ashore. The United States Coast Guard reported that an incident command has been established as oil has washed up from Cape Henlopen to Fowler Beach. There are 75 contractors reponding.
