The second and last gubernatorial debate will be held this evening featuring democrat Phil Murphy and republican Kim Guadagno. All pre-election polls show Guadagno trailing Murphy by double digits, and both candidates struggling with name recognition. The election will be held November 7th.
A resignation at the top of the ranks of the New Jersey State Police. Governor Christie announced today that Colonel Rick Fuentes has retired as the long time superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. Fuentes will likely head up the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
South Jersey Gas has purchased two other natural gas companies. The utility announced that it has purchased Elizabethtown Gas and Elkton Gas in Maryland from another energy company. South Jersey Gas will become the second largest natural gas supplier in the Garden State.
No massive break for United States Senator Robert Menendez who tried to get a dismissal of the charges relating to his corruption case. A judge ruled Monday that the 18 charges stick, and now the trial moves into the defense mode. The prosecution in the case rested after six weeks of testimony on Wednesday.
Pinelands Regional High School will remain closed as necessary repairs need to be made. School officials announced that high school students will be attending classes at the junior high school until the repairs are completed. There have been issues at the high school involving falling screws, and asbestos.
If you need a job, McDonalds is hiring in New Jersey. The fast food chain announced this week that it intends to hire 2,900 employees throughout the Garden State this month. McDonalds is doing much of the hiring via Snapchat.
If pre-election polls are to be believed, Phil Murphy will be your next governor. The latest Stockton University Poll gives Murphy an 18 point lead over republican challenger Kim Guadagno. Murphy received 51 percent support in the poll, while Guadagno has 33 percent. Seven percent desire another third party candidate.
