A very small earthquake shook up some neighborhoods in Morris Plains, Morris County on Monday evening. Experts say the 1.5 magnitude quake was noticeable only because the epicenter ran through the community. Police received some calls about a loud noise coming from outside.

49 year old Pedro Quezada of Wayne, New Jersey recently won a $338 million Powerball jackpot; now Quezada is charged with sexually assaulting a child over a three year period. Prosecutors allege Quezada assaulted the girl, who was age 11 when the alleged assaults began.

Governor Christie again affirmed today that he knew nothing about the Bridgegate controversy as it unfolded. Christie appeared on a national news television show Tuesday morning and insists that he did not direct anyone to create traffic gridlock on our side of the George Washington Bridge for political retaliation.
Governor Christie announced Monday that drug companies will begin working on non-addictive pain medications in order to help combat the opioid crisis. Christie held a press conference in Trenton Monday and stressed that the public and private sectors must work together to solve this problem.
New Jersey likely will not be raising the State’s gasoline tax in October. The State is obligated to review the gasoline tax every year before November 1st, and all indications are the 23-cent gas tax will not be adjusted. The tax generates over $1.2 billion annually for the Garden State.
