A federal judge has tossed some of the charges against Senator Robert Menendez but allowed many charges to stick for a potential re-trial on a corruption complaint. United States District Judge William Walls denied requests by Menendez’ attorneys for an acquittal on all charges. The federal government plans to proceed expeditiously with the new trial.
A Lakewood man has started a petition to raise the legal speed limit on the Garden State Parkway to 75 mph. NJ.com reports that Mendel Rosenfeld has started the petition and has over 800 signatures on it already. Governor Phil Murphy signed an executive order Monday calling for a complete audit of New Jersey Transit. Murphy has called the organization a “national disgrace” and says only a new New Jersey Transit will be acceptable to the citizens of the Garden State.
Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured late Sunday afternoon during a two vehicle accident on Mullica Hill Road in Harrison Township. Police say the 71 year old driver of one vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and caused the accident. The road was shut down for four hours.

A 21 year old New Jersey man travelled to California to have sex with a seventh grade child. Authorities say Michael Anaya-Otero flew twice to California allegedly to have sex with the child and video the encounter. He was arrested on January 5th and could face up to 30 years in prison.
