Longtime New Jersey Congressman William Pascrell Jr. nearly fainted from the heat during an event Tuesday at the Englewood, NJ Fire Department. Pascrell was carried out from the event and taken to a local hospital for observation. Pascrell is 81 and was overcome by the heat and dehydration at the event.
The new state budget has been signed into law by Governor Phil Murphy. Murphy signed the spending plan late Sunday night and brags that it will mean huge investments into public schools, property tax relief, and New Jersey Transit. So far only minor injuries are reported in connection with a crash involving a school bus on the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday. Reports say more than a dozen children were injured when the bus turned onto its side near Cherry Hill. No word on what caused the bus to flip.
