The New Jersey Attorney General’s office announced that the Virtua Medical Group has agreed to pay $418,000 to tighten up security practices after patients’ medical records were accidentally leaked online. Virtua is affiliated with 50 South Jersey medical practices and facilities.

Governor Phil Murphy will spend $100 million to combat opioid addiction in the Garden State. Murphy plans on spending $87 million on various prevention and recovery measures, and millions on treatment centers. He says none of the money will be spent on television advertisements like his predecessor did, Chris Christie.

Monday was the filing deadline for candidates to get on the ballot, and newspaper publisher Lisa McCormick filed her petition to run for the democratic nomination. McCormick allegedly has enough signatures on her petition to get on the ballot.

New Jersey State Police in South Jersey say they nabbed five juveniles who were caught on film damaging some construction equipment in Atlantic County. Police say social media tips led police to all five suspects. Cops published a photo of the kids destroying the equipment two weeks ago.
