A bill that would advance a $15 an hour minimum wage in New Jersey is expected to be advanced in Trenton today. The new wage would be phased in and strike the 15 dollar level by 2024. Many business groups oppose it, saying a minimum wage is not supposed to be a primary wage income.

Governor Phil Murphy shut down many offices in state government early Tuesday afternoon due to a snow storm that is expected to dump a half foot of snow on northern New Jersey. Many school districts in the northern part of the state either closed for the day, or had early dismissals.
Bill Baroni will be sentenced for his participation in “Bridgegate” next month. Some of the charges against Baroni were tossed by a judge, so his sentence is expected to be more lenient.
