Legal recreational marijuana is not coming to New Jersey anytime soon. Senate President Steve Sweeney said today there are not enough votes to legalize pot; instead, a referendum question will be placed before voters in the November, 2020 election. Instead, the State is expanding the medical marijuana program.

A sailboat captain refused assistance from the United States Coast Guard after his boat became stuck in a coastal storm Sunday off the coast of Bradley Beach. The captain instead anchored his sailboat and refused to get off it. The Coast Guard will check on the captain again today.
