Governor Phil Murphy is expected to sign legislation that will greatly expand the family leave laws in New Jersey. The new measure will increase the eligibility period for paid family leave from six to 12 weeks and raise the amount earned by the caregiver to 85 percent of his or her salary.

A bill that would advance a $15 an hour minimum wage in New Jersey is expected to be advanced in Trenton today. The new wage would be phased in and strike the 15 dollar level by 2024. Many business groups oppose it, saying a minimum wage is not supposed to be a primary wage income.
