55 YEAR OLD MAN HAD 45,000 IMAGES OF KIDDIE PORN

A 55 year old North Jersey man has been arrested this week for having 45,000 images of child pornography in his possession.  August Blew of High Bridge was charged with one count of second degree child endangerment.

You may soon bid farewell to plastic bags and styrofoam food containers.  A new bill in Trenton would eliminate both from our general waste stream, following the lead of some local towns that are ahead of the curve, including Avalon and Stone Harbor.  Plastic straws would be available..but you would have to ask for them.

Rutgers University football coach Greg Schiano is now the highest paid state employee in New Jersey’s history.  Schiano has a $32 million contract spread out over eight years.  He will also get paid $5,000 annually for clothing, receive a $15,000 annual car stipend, and for good measure…gets a golf membership at a country club.

BURLINGTON BRISTOL BRIDGE CLOSES IN SOUTH JERSEY

The Burlington Bristol Bridge is closed until further notice.  The bridge closed early this morning after a vehicle struck a guardrail and severely damaged it.  Repairs will have to be made to the bridge before it is allowed to re-open.

CRAZY DRIVING DAY IN NEW JERSEY, SNOW CAUSES HUNDREDS OF INCIDENTS

New  Jersey State Police reported 275 accidents and about 200 motorists’ aid requests…all before lunchtime Monday.  A winter storm that is bringing snowfall to more than half of the state has been responsible for the spin outs and wrecks.  It’s expected to get worse in the evening hours.

STATE OFFICES TO CLOSE AT NOON TODAY

New Jersey state government offices will be closing at 12 Noon today.  Governor Murphy declared that the offices will close at Noon so employees can get home before the second round of the winter storm hits.  Essential employees will remain on the job until the close of business today.

MEGA MILLIONS JACKPOT CLIMBS TO $266 MILLION

There were no winners in last night’s Mega Millions lottery drawing.  That means the estimated jackpot for the next drawing Tuesday evening will be worth $266 million.  There was only one Match 5 winning ticket sold, in New Hampshire.
