Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie says he’s not through with public service just yet. The 56 year old Christie told NJ Advanced Media that the idea his public service career is over is laughable to him. Christie released a new book this week that details his life in government.
Governor Phil Murphy shut down many offices in state government early Tuesday afternoon due to a snow storm that is expected to dump a half foot of snow on northern New Jersey. Many school districts in the northern part of the state either closed for the day, or had early dismissals.
Bill Baroni will be sentenced for his participation in “Bridgegate” next month. Some of the charges against Baroni were tossed by a judge, so his sentence is expected to be more lenient. Baroni was one of the fall guys for a political plan to create traffic congestion near the George Washington Bridge.
Thursday is the day when the increase in the minimum wage comes up for a full vote in the New Jersey Assembly. Lawmakers approved legislation Monday in Trenton that would hike the wage to $15 an hour within five years.
A New Jersey man has been accused of making child pornography with victims who appear to be less than one year of age. 34 year old Sebastien Attar had the pornography inside his home in Brick. Attar appears in the images, naked with the children.
A proposal to increase the State’s minimum wage to $15 an hour over a five year period was approved by the Assembly Labor Committee on Thursday. The bill now heads to the Appropriations Committee for a hearing early next week.
New Jersey State Police say a long standoff ended Wednesday afternoon in Salem County after a wanted fugitive opened fire on cops. 26 year old Eric Smith was taken into custody with no injuries after United States Marshals attempted to take him. Smith fire multiple rounds; no one was struck by gunfire.

Governor Phil Murphy has named two more individuals to the Pinelands Commission. Murphy announced that Kelly Mood and Teresa Lettman are his nominees that must be confirmed by the State Seante. Lettman would replace a 93-year old member of the Commission.
