A 39 year old Millville woman abandoned her special needs child in a wooded area near the Pine Barrans and left him alone with a suitcase. Police say Debra Wisler was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The child is being nursed back to health. ##
Former Millville High School baseball star Aaron Cox has been suspended for 50 days because a test showed that he used a banned stimulant. Cox allegedly used a drug methylphenidate which is used to treat ADHD and other afflictions. Cox pitches in the minor leagues for the Los Angeles Angels. ##

New Jersey Congressman Frank LoBiondo has secured $3.6 million in federal funding for the Millville Airport. The money will be used for improvements to the runway and lighting at the airport. Over the past 13 years, the airport has received over $21 million in federal support. ##

Millville Police say a home on East Vine Street was struck by several bullets last Thursday afternoon, but no one was injured. Police arrested a driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of the shooting; he’s been identified as 36 year old Khalil S. Mills of Vineland. ##
An arrest of a crime suspect by a Millville Police officer is under review. The arrest was caught on camera and show a police officer repeatedly striking a man. Police Chief Jody Farabella says the officer repeatedly asked the man to stop resisting, but he did not cooperate. ##
